Mechanical Testing
Metamet Consultants have access to an extensive mechanical testing laboratory. Computer controlled tensile testing machines are available with load capacities up to 1200 kN (static loading) or 250kN (dynamic loading) and all of the following tests can be performed:
- Tensile
- Fatigue
- Compression
- Bend
- Re-bend
- Hardness
- Microhardness.
- Flexure
- Sheer
- Impact
Corrosion and Environment Testing
A fully equipped corrosion laboratory houses facilities that are designed to accelerate the corrosion process by emulating the most aggressive conditions likely to be experienced by products and components in service. The effects of atmospheric exposure on materials can also be analysed. Our vast experience allows us to not only to produce accurate test reports but to also interpret and advise on the findings that are made. The following facilities are available:
- Salt spray testing to ASTM B117
- Cyclic corrosion testing
- Emulation of aggresive corrosion conditions
- Constant humidity testing
- Constant temperature cabinets
- Cycling temperature cabinets
- QUV cabinets
- UV exposure testing
